Welcome to Emersons Green Village Hall

We are a registered Charity run by a board of Trustees.

There are currently 5 Trustees on the board who oversee the running of the Hall. We would especially welcome applications for new Trustees who have experience in H.R, Accountancy or Law.

Emersons Green was envisaged as a place "Where families come first" and new arrivals were welcomed to an exciting new "Village Lifestyle"

Included in the Master Plan was the Village Hall, located at the centre of the development, the land provided by the developers, and the building of it overseen by South Gloucestershire Council.

Emersons Green lies within Mangotsfield Rural Parish and when this council became involved they were concerned that the size of the hall was insufficient to cater for the needs of the new community but the footprint for the building fomed part of the Master Plan so the only option for extension was to build a second storey to contain meeting rooms, facilities and MRPC Parish Office.

MRPC agreed to provide some of the extra funds needed to fit out the interior of the rooms and work started in 2002.

It was completed and opened in 2004.

In 2005 the lease was passed from MRPC to the Village Hall Committee under an agreement to run the hall as a Charitable Trust, with both the Trustees and members of the committee drawn from its regular user groups and the local community, giving them the responsibility for the appointment of staff who manage the day to day running of the Hall.

In 2006 as an acknowledgement to the contribution of MRPC the two meeting rooms on the upper floor were named after the late Councillor Bill Jefferies and Councillors Jim and Barbara Cullimore. 

We continue to be the focal point for the local community and we provide various activities for both young and old alike as well as providing a venue for both private events and Business meeting space.
